#2-Warehouse Forever

Chadwick Boseman 1977-2020
While screening may not have saved Chadwick Boseman, colon cancer screening does save lives! If you are 45 or older, or have a family history of colon cancer, talk to your doctor about colon cancer screening. If you have any gastrointestinal symptoms that concern you, see a physician!

Light it Up
I noticed a great selection of flashlights at my warehouse this week. I also bought a pack of headlamps to water my plants at nighttime :-) Many people are in emergency preparedness mode so its good to have a powerful flashlight on hand. If you need batteries for your flashlights, Duracell are on sale until the 30th. However KS batteries are a great value as well.

I Made This Recipe Up
It’s been a hot summer in Seattle and I’m going through a cold soup phase. Two of my favorites are whatever I have on hand to make some version of this cucumber-yogurt soup or gazpacho. Basically, chuck whatever green and red things you have in a blender, pour into a mason jar and drink with a stainless steel straw like a hipster. I have found the grape and cherry tomatoes to be much more flavorful than the on the vine or Roma tomatoes this year. Add some vodka, it’s a bloody mary. Or just like drinking salsa.
Samples?!
We have heard reports of full size samples in some stores but I don’t think it has hit the Pacific Northwest. Check out this article describing some of the sample procedures in various stores. As you may know, the sample workers were employed by a third party company. When the pandemic started, Costco tried to keep them employed by delegating various tasks like cart cleaning. However, they quickly realized that many of those workers fell into a high risk group and temporarily suspended their contract with the company. Here’s hoping we can return to free samples someday and everyone can be safe.
Covid Corner
I have been using the 32 degrees face masks for a few weeks now and am pretty pleased. Comfortable and breathable. While they are technically one layer it is a thick layer of spandex. Overall I would recommend! They also come in kid’s sizes.
Lots of conflicting reports about whether or not neck gaiters are protective. At any rate there is a set available online and in many warehouses.
The paper face mask box of 50 is 3 dollars off this week both in store and online
Good news! The Moxe aloe hand sanitizer(green label) does not smell like the dumpster behind a tequila factory!!
Until next time……
