Cheers!

Welcome to the newsletter! If you follow us on Instagram @thatcostcolife you already know how much I love to share warehouse finds. We will definitely be evolving and hopefully each issue will be better than the next! To make that happen, we need to hear from you! Feel free to leave comments on what you would like to read about, products you love and even products you hated!
That New New
The Instagram account @costco_empties posted this new cheese plate from the deli! I didn’t see it this week so let us know if you find it at your store! Per report it has Brie, Cheddar and Manchego along with fig jam, almonds, grapes and crackers. Pumped for this one. Because of the grapes and berries, I would recommend consuming within a day or two of purchase.

Coupon Book Best Buys

I have posted about this gnocchi kit on the ‘gram before, and there is a slightly newer version on sale. I really like how the gnocchi get crispy in the pan. This time I added sage from my garden and it was delicious! Then I tried to burn some dried sage like they do on TV to get rid of bad 2020 omens. It really just smelled like cigarettes so I had to burn the candle above to get rid of the smell :-/ But anyways, the gnocchi is on sale for around $5.50 per package. Feeds 2-3 quite easily!
COVID Corner
Paper masks available at most stores. $11.99 for 50
Thanks to a reader for sharing these face shields! Consider using them during high risk exposures like an airplane.
I asked about returning the DISGUSTING orange bottle Moxe hand sanitizer and was told I could(a friend was previously told they could not). There is a new Moxe sanitizer in a green bottle, Eucalyptus/Mint scent but have not tried it. Very wary. I would try to stick to Germ-X or Purell!
Wipes: Going at opening time is still your best bet for grabbing wipes. Remember to head straight to get wipes then do the rest of your shopping!
Warehouse Queen: Returns
Many times returns can seem like more hassle than they are worth, but at Costco they are leaps and bounds above any other store. Here are some tips on being a good return citizen but also pushing the rules just a bit.
Leave your receipts in an envelope in your car, or in a box or tote near your door where you will collect items that need to go back. This will especially make price adjustments easier as you cannot do them without a receipt.
File away your big ticket item receipts(TVs, appliances, etc). Because I kept the receipt I returned a 6 year old Keurig (with box!) that had broken. Customer service was not thrilled with me but couldn’t dispute my documentation :-) However be aware that doing this repeatedly could get you flagged! We have a family member who is no longer allowed to return Keurigs because he did too many in a short period of time.
You have 30 days for a price adjustment. Once in a while(especially during the pandemic if you whine a little that you couldn’t come), you might be able to ask for one outside the window. If you find something with a huge price reduction and you missed the window, you could consider buying the item again and returning it on the old receipt. Extra effort, so depends on the item!
I almost never try to return things on weekends unless it is right at opening or the line is clearly short. Stop by on a weeknight and get yourself a slice of pizza for dinner too!
Homebody

I noticed that the iHome Zenergy Candle is back on the website! This is a small white noise/sleep therapy machine that looks a little more sleek than the average. It’s fairly basic but I think it makes a nice addition to a guest room if you frequently have visitors with kids etc so they don’t have to lug another gadget or use a phone/tablet white noise app. Of course if you are trying to improve your own sleep hygiene it’s great for that as well. It also comes in black.
Garden shout-out! 👏🏼 🍃
